About Jen McConachie
I have designed many food forests, from small backgardens to farms and a rooftop food forest at Økern Portal in Oslo!
I have worked with consulting, courses and plant propagation at Efferus Veksthus.
I hold Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC), which I also co-teach and am on the way to my permaculture diploma.
My background is music- I worked as a DJ/composer, until I got turned onto permaculture 10 years ago! I am passionate about cocreating a regenerative future with nature!
I have designed this course to be a simple, fun step-by-step method to design your own food forest paradise, whether you have a small backyard or a whole farm!
I love creating and sharing courses with Earth lovers like you!
What is a food forest?
A food forest is an ancient system, which imitates nature's 3-dimensional stacking of trees, bushes and perennials in layers, to grow food and other useful plants in a regenerative, low maintenance, self-sustaining way!
The method can be used whether you have a small garden or a whole farm.
Are you ready to..
Harvest fresh, healthy seasonal perennials all year round?
Experience a magical partnership with your garden?
Enjoy salad, herbs, fruit, nuts and berries without lots of maintenance?
Lie in the hammock and listen to birdsong and bees buzzing?
Work with nature instead of against?

We have wanted to create a forest garden for a long time, but been unsure where to start. It felt overwhelming and complicated and we were afraid to make mistakes. Jen´s program gave us the confidence to get started. Her program is warmly recommended!

Forest gardens with Jen is my first online course and I joined as a sceptic, but I was utterly wrong! This course was perfect for me! It was packed with so much knowledge, and presented in such a clear, interesting way that it has given me the confidence to start my forest garden. Despite that it came at a busy time in my life, I actually managed to do my design. I really surprised myself as I've never done anything like this before. Now I find myself actually doing it. A huge thanks to Jen for a wonderful course!
